Ulta Beauty engages shoppers with holographic displays

Implementing customisable, mobile holographic BeamBoxxes for Ulta Beauty. 

When the Museum of Solutions, JSW, sought to develop an advanced, immersive educational space for children, they approached ImmersionX for expertise in designing interactive exhibits that combined education with engagement. We were tasked with creating a series of exhibits for the Discover Floor that would transform traditional learning into an interactive, hands-on experience.

BeamBoxx

ImmersionX Technologies partnered with Ulta Beauty to elevate the brand’s retail experiences using our innovative BeamBoxx. These holographic display units brought a new level of interactivity and excitement to beauty product marketing, allowing them to captivate its audience across various locations in Los Angeles. By utilising cutting-edge technology, we helped them reimagine how products are presented and marketed in-store and beyond. 

The challenge

Ulta Beauty sought a more engaging and visually captivating way to showcase its wide array of beauty products. Traditional in-store displays and static digital screens no longer resonated with the brand’s dynamic audience. The goal was to create a solution that would attract attention and amplify customer engagement, ultimately boosting product visibility and driving sales. 

Design to reality

We brought this vision to life by designing holographic BeamBoxxes of various sizes, each capable of displaying high-definition 3D product animations and videos. These holographic boxes presented beauty routines, influencer videos, and tutorials, giving customers a more immersive and dynamic experience. Unlike traditional displays, the BeamBoxxes captured the audience’s attention from every angle and offered greater flexibility. Their mobile, wheel-mounted design allowed Ulta Beauty to position them in different store locations and adapt to various campaign needs.  

These BeamBoxxes are managed via a centralised CMS, enabling Ulta to easily update content in real-time, whether for seasonal campaigns, new product launches, or special promotions. This level of control ensured that Ulta Beauty’s marketing remained fresh, relevant, and engaging. 

The impact

The implementation of the BeamBoxx transformed Ulta Beauty’s retail experience by introducing a unique, eye-catching way to showcase products. Customers were drawn to the vibrant holographic displays, which added depth and excitement to their marketing efforts. The mobile and adaptable design allowed the brand to easily move and update content, ensuring that each display felt timely and connected to the latest promotions or product releases.
